New Adoptive Families Study

Collaboration with international partners at Université Paris Nanterre, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Universidad de Valencia, and Universidad Complutense en Madrid.

The purpose of this study is to better understand adoptive families, their parenting experiences, and their children's development. 

Data collection concluded April 2023!

The study consisted of an anonymous online survey which took about 25-45 minutes to complete.  To have qualified for the US study you must reside in the United States, be 18 years of age or older, and had an adopted child who is currently between the ages of 4-17 who has no genetic link to one or both parents. Participants can be any sexual orientation and/or any gender. Participants can be single or have a partner, but only one parent can participate.

This study US version of the study has been approved by the Ethics Board at Pennsylvania State University (STUDY 00016607).
