Gender Diverse Parents Study

The purpose of this worldwide longitudinal internet based study was to gain insight into the diversity of non-cisgender parents and their families.  The goal of the study was to examine the many ways families headed by non-cisgender parents have been created, explore their children's development, and learn more about family functioning.

Initial data collection 2017, Wave 2 2018, & Wave 3 2020 [COVID-two rounds]!

Wave 3  consisted of two rounds of surveys, April 2020 to May 2020 and August 2020 to September 2020. This was conducted to find out more about how families in the US are managing the COVID-19 pandemic.  The study consisted of two parts: First, an online survey and will take approximately 25-40 minutes of your time.  Second, you will be asked to complete a short survey (5-10 minutes) daily for eight days.

To qualify for the study you have to identify as a non-cisgender/trans/gender non-conforming/gender diverse parent and have a least one child of any age, this child can be biological, adopted, foster, step, etc. and be currently living in the US.  The original study has been approved by the Pennsylvania State University IRB #STUDY00005115.
